Head of Schools Email:lynda.howe@misy.edu.mmAbout Me
I was born and spent my childhood in the beautiful county of Devon in England. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of London I spent fifteen years working for a large international charity, developing and managing community centres in deprived city areas.
I completed my PGCE in 2002 and established my teaching career at two large secondary schools on the south coast of England, spending eight years as a senior leader.I have travelled widely in Europe and Southeast Asia but chose Myanmar to live and work five years ago. MISY continues to provide me with valuable opportunities to apply my skills and experience in an International School setting.
I have three children: two sons and one daughter. They are pursuing successful careers in web content design, civil service and TV production.
I enjoy trekking, listening to classical music, gardening and exploring the extraordinary country of Myanmar.
Area of special interest
Educational Leadership
I trained to be a religious studies teacher but I have also taught humanities subjects and PSHE I have now served as a school senior leader for thirteen years. I love the challenges associated with leading and managing an educational establishment and am passionate about education and the opportunities it can bring to young people all over the world.
