About Me

I am an very experienced and well qualified English Language and English Literature teacher. 

Area of special interest

19th Century novels, especially Charles Dickens, George Eliot and the Bronte sisters.
20th Century poetry, especially TS Eliot, Keith Douglas, Dylan Thomas, Seamus Heaney,
WB Yeats, Robert Frost, Sylvia Plath, Liz Lochhead.
Shakespeare plays - tragedies  /    comedies  /  history plays  (that’s all of them actually!)
Shakespeare sonnets.
20th Century Drama: Arthur Miller, Tennessee Williams, Tom Stoppard. Edward Albee, Sean O’Casey.

My Experience

30+ years teaching in international secondary schools in 13 different countries, teaching across KS3/4/5. Started with TEFL in Italy & Greece before taking a PGCE and teaching in a 6th Form College in the UK.

My specialism is in IGCSE English Language & Literature and A Level English Literature (CAIE & Pearson Edexcel).

Regarding extra-curricular activities, I have enjoyed coaching debate, drama and football.
