Physics Teacher Email:edgar.bedis@misy.edu.mmAbout Me
I am a passionate Mathematics and Physics teacher from the Philippines with 31 years of teaching experience from both public schools and International Schools. My motto in the classroom is “no one must be left behind”. This makes me strict but kind to the learners so that they can acquire every skill needed for the subject and manifest understanding of the lessons. My goal in teaching is to make the learners skillful, responsible, globally competitive and a citizen with a heart.
As a father, I am compassionate to my students. I am a good listener, team player and a person on the go so that I can learn easily from my teammates, parents and students.
Despite the length of service in teaching, I am not left behind in the digital world. I use computers and other technology as a teaching tool in order to deliver the lessons easily. Aside from using technology as a tool for teaching, it also makes me more productive in doing clerical jobs.
I was also assigned previously as the Mathematics Department Head where I managed to mentor and supervise the teachers in my department in order to help them to be the best teachers they can be. I sometimes observe the teachers in their classroom. After the class observation a conference is held to discuss the findings by highlighting the positive things in the class. After identifying the strengths I used to ask the teacher of the challenges he faced in the classroom so that we can discuss the possible solution to the problems.
With many years in diverse classrooms made my horizon wider by accepting that as a human being I have weaknesses and limitations. Many times I was mistaken but learned and grew from them. I am flexible, open to change and most of all willing to learn new ideas.
Area of special interest
I love poetry. I used to write poems during my spare times. Most of my poems include Mathematics and Science concepts translated into lessons in life for motivation.
I am a sports enthusiast. I love to play table tennis, badminton, volleyball, basketball and chess.
I also love dancing (Hip Hop and ballroom) when engaging in sports is not possible.
