Welcome from the Head of Schools

Building on the success of MISY, our school in Mandalay opened its doors in 2018, and has been committed to the same vision and mission as our sister school, with a focus on instilling within students the knowledge, skills and qualities they need to make positive contributions to Myanmar and the wider world. As a head of both schools since 2021, it has been wonderful to see how MISY Mandalay has grown and developed since its opening. This has been a result of our shared values and a strong determination to provide a truly international experience for our students. MISY Mandalay has recently gained membership of the Council of International Schools (CIS) which is a mark of our commitment to ongoing school improvement and our desire to provide the highest standards of teaching and learning for all of our students. .

Testimonials

  • Min Khant Ko Ko @ Ace

    Class of 2025

MISY pushed me to achieve my best academically, while encouraging growth beyond the classroom. The school genuinely supports and cares for all kinds of activities like sports, science, mathematics competitions, and brings out hidden talents, helping every student feel included. Because of this balance, I’ve grown both in my studies and as a person.

  • Myat Thandar Aung @ Aditi

    Class of 2025

I’ve been at MISY since Year 9, and as I graduate in Year 13, I’m truly grateful for my time here. The teachers, along with the Head of School, have always been supportive and approachable, helping me grow both academically and personally. Throughout my time at MISY, I’ve had valuable experiences, including taking on leadership roles such as organizing a charity initiative, which helped me build confidence and responsibility. While balancing academics and responsibilities was sometimes challenging, it has been equally rewarding as I’ve grown more independent and resilient. I will always appreciate the memories, friendships, and lessons I’ve gained along the way.

  • Su Wai Phyo @ Roshini

    Class of 2025

My time at MISY has been more than just academics; it has been a journey of growth and self-discovery. During my A-levels, I learned how to stay disciplined, manage pressure, and persevere even during the most stressful periods.

The support and guidance from my teachers made a huge difference, especially throughout my university application process. They continuously encouraged me to aim higher and gave me the confidence to pursue my goals.

Beyond academics, my involvement in community service and volunteering at local hospital has been an especially meaningful part of my experience. These opportunities allowed me to develop empathy, teamwork, and a deeper sense of responsibility, while also giving back to the community.

It’s also the friendships, memories, and shared experiences that I will always value. Looking back, I’m truly grateful for everything MISY has given me, as it has prepared me well for the next chapter of my life.

“The teachers are supportive not only academically but also approachable and easy to talk to, which makes a big difference in daily school life. They create a comfortable environment that helps you stay motivated and improve. Beyond academics, the school offers many community service opportunities like teaching, volunteering, and organizing events, which helped me develop leadership and teamwork. The school also supports a wide range of sports and encourages students to participate actively. Achieving the ISSAM League championship with MISY in volleyball was a defining moment of my experience here.”
