During the week, October 25th to 29th, we celebrated International Week at school. During this week, the students, with their teachers, selected the country that their class would study and celebrate. They studied the national culture, custom commemorative symbols, songs, dances, history and of course, food.
On the final day of the international week, Saturday 29th October, in addition to class-specific preparations and wonderful work, all parents also participated by preparing individual countries’ traditional food with the students and teachers.
On this day, school students paraded waving national flags with national anthems, were introduced and entertained with traditional dances and songs and wandered and ate at the national stalls prepared and cooked by their parents.
Parents also attended students’ presentations and classroom studies of traditional national cultural symbols prepared in the classrooms. They then joined in studying and eating the national delicacies, only after their passports were all filled up with their travels across the world.
A very successful and heart warming day for all involved.
